Clinical studies show that the AVENT Bottle significantly reduces colic** and unsettled behaviour*. As your baby feeds, the unique skirt on the AVENT teat flexes to allow air into the bottle, preventing and vacuum build-up. This allows your baby to suckle almost as at the breast. Listen for the gentle whistling sound and watch the air bubbles burst on the surface of the milk. That's your guarantee that the air is being released into the bottle - not your baby's tummy.
* A clinical study showed that at two weeks of age, babies showed less settling than babies fed with another leading bottle. ** A clinical study showed that at two weeks of age babies fed with an Philips AVENT bottle showed a trend to less colic than babies fed with a conventional bottle.
How it Works
Shaped for stability and comfort, the bottle's waisted shape is easier to hold and its wide-neck design makes filling simple. Clear markings on the bottle ensure accurate measurement and make it easier to determine how much baby has been fed. The dome cap seals the AVENT Teat securely to ensure leakproof mixing and travel without the need for seperate sealing discs.
Helps settle your baby
Unsettled and irritable behavior, is by far the most commonly know crying behavior in babies. A clinical trial was carried out to see whethere infant feeding bottle design affects "infact behaviour".
The Philips AVENT bottle has shown to significantly reduce unsettle behavior by approximately 28minutes a day as compared to the control bottle (46 min vs 74 min, p=0.05) This was especially true during night-time.

Easy to clean
The feeding bottle consists of only three components for ease of cleaning and has an dormal cap for hygienic storage and transportation. In a randomised clinical trial the design of the Philips AVENT bottle was compared with another leading brand over a 12 month period. The maternal satisfaction in terms of ease of cleaning (p=0.0.04) and ease of assembly (p=0.02) was significantly better in the Philips AVENT bottle.
Philips AVENT Bottle Range
The AVENT feeding bottle range has two BPA-Free Bottles (0% Bisphenol A). One BPA-Free Bottle is extra durable, easy to clean and made from the honey-coloured material Polyethersulfone (PES). The other BPA-Free bottle is a semi-transparent bottle made from Polypropylene (PP) which has a unique ring to ensure the skirt on the teat works optimally.

The AVENT Teat
The AVENT Teat works with baby's natural feeding rhythm. Your baby controls milk flow more like breastfeeding, which can help reduce overeating and spit-up. A unique skirt system, with a built-in one-way air valve at its base flexes to allow air into the bottle to prevent a vacuum, whilst milk flows at a pace that baby controls. This promotes healthy, active feeding and reduces colic. You may hear the valve quietly working, but watch as the bubbles move away from the teat - that's your guarantee that air is going into the bottle, not into baby's tummy. The naturally shaped teat promotes proper latch-on and makes it easier to combine breast and bottle feeding.
Choosing the right teat for your baby
Remember that age indications are approximate as babies develop at different rates. You will know when your baby is ready to move onto a faster flow rate because he or she will try to such harder to get the milk more quickly. they may also show signs of tiredness or frustration during feeding. AVENT Teat packs are colour coded to help you find the correct flow rate. INSERT CHART HERE********************
Many mothers introduce some bottle feeding into their babies' lives. Some may wish to express their own breast milk to allow someone else to give baby a feed; some may be advised by their health visitor or paediatrician to give supplementary bottle feeds and some mothers may choose not to breastfeed. Whilst many believe that "breast is best", only you and your health care professional can know which method is right for you. Whatever your choice, you can rely on Philips AVENT to support your decision with their award-winning range of feeding products
